The culture of fast food and "perfect" bodies have misrepresented our relationship with food

Anorexia, bulimia, obesity and other disorders are manifestations of this.

By healing the relationship with our food, we turn eating into a true ritual of love and care, which can also be fun.

Our Girls will be able to take part in workshops such as:

Basics of human body needs for nutrition - biology of nutrition

How food affects your physical body

Mental health and food

Busting common food myths

Ensuring your nutrition is taken care of through a healthy routine

Cooking basics - safety in the kitchen

The Impact Of Food On Our Bodies

“Awareness of our bodies’ unique needs.”

We understand that food and emotions are connected. This link can be especially tough for young women and girls to navigate. We teach girls about disordered eating and some things that might trigger it in age-appropriate lessons. With teens and young adults, we discuss the use of tobacco, drugs, and alcohol and the harmful effects they can have in the short and long term.

We teach girls how to identify processed foods, soft drinks, energy drinks, and sugary foods and explain how consuming these foods can negatively affect their bodies, emotions, and minds.

We show them how to choose foods that nourish and provide energy and still taste good.

Our Founder, Adriana Hogan The Original Echo

Dynamic, caring, and ever the visionary, Adriana Hogan founded Echo to nurture, strengthen, and educate girls and young women. Not everyone has the chance to learn life’s necessary skills at home or in the classroom, so Adriana dreamed up Echo to fill in those important gaps and prepare girls for real life.

Developing Healthy Food Knowledge

Community is foundational in all we do, and that also extends to food and nutrition. We encourage the girls to help each other maintain healthy habits and keep each other accountable. Together they learn to support each other in taking good care of their bodies with connections that last a lifetime.

Promote Good Habits

You can help a girl learn creative and safe ways to make food interesting, delicious, and good for her by sponsoring a girl or donating to Echo!
